Man just calm down, you guys. People are going to pick at movies. That's just the way it is. To be honest, I eagerly waited for Transformers to come out, sat through Transformers at the edge of my seat the entire time and for a while, I was fairly pleased with the film until the nostalgia wore off and I watched it the second time. THEN, I was a little disappointed about the little flaws and mistakes they had in the movie and the differences it had with G1.

As a result, it wasn't MY movie but it was an entertaining movie if you forget the G1 mythology. 2 was not so hot, the nostalgia had worn off by now and to be honest, I was waiting for the movie to end halfway through. The 3rd one had more SHOCKING elements like when they executed Wheeljack and the leaning building scene was quite exciting. Overall, it could have been the best of the 3, in my opinion, and probably would have had more of a mass appeal. If they somehow integrated the origin portions of the first film into the 3rd film and condensed it overall, it may had been a reasonable film.

However, I don't think people are so much concerned with accuracy as they are about a good movie. The reasons why Batman Begins and the Dark Knight worked was that they were great films that were executed well. They aren't particularly accurate. Sure they added the gritty feel of SOME of the Batman comics, but it still changed a lot. There was no Rachel Dawes in the comics. Harvey Dent's origin was changed dramatically. Henri Ducard and R'as Al Ghul were never the same person.

And heck, you had a lot of people who still questioned Heath Ledger's portrayal of Joker, hating Katie Holmes/Maggie Gyllenhaal's involvement, yadda yadda. You have people who hate the fact that Samuel L. Jackson is portraying Nick Fury and that they changed Nick Fury's skin colour in both the comics and the movies. In Iron Man, Iron Man's origin had been updated to reflect the modern political climate. People will be more sensitive to change if the movie itself is lacking. This is what I've found to be consistent.

nakobass, your standards for films are different and clearly less demanding than others. I used to feel the same way when I was a child. I loved Mario Bros. the movie and now, I consider it torture to watch that. I just think the new Transformers could've been better executed and the same may be said with Ninja Turtles, but we shall see. People were shitting bricks when they heard Heath Ledger was playing Joker, and not in a good way. Then the same people watched it and it was backtrack city.
