Aren't the turtles already byproducts of alien ooze anyway?

Until the director gets his hands on the script and starts filming, all you're doing is giving it free press by talking about it. That's what this kind of drama and fan rage does. Gives what's otherwise a movie with little to no press major headlines.

Personally, I'm just going to wait until a real trailer is out. Otherwise it's just words that mean nothing until we see how it's handled.

When people hear Ninja Turtles are aliens it's like they are immediately thinking:
"4 aliens who are obsessed with Naruto and happen to look like turtles travel to earth thinking it'd be cool to be ninjas. They crash into a dojo which crushes the sensei. They don't know human physiology so in trying to heal their new sensei with their tech they turn him into a gian rat. Their spaceship is their HQ and it's buried underneath the dojo."

When what I hear is:
"4 turtles who are training to be ninjas know nothing of their past, they could have been stranded aliens, pet turtles mutated by alien/radioactive ooze, or any thing inbetween. They live in the sewers afraid to interact with mankind because of how people may react."

It's easy to assume the worst, but with both creators of the franchise saying they agree with bay and also saying to just chill out, cut it some slack until a real trailer hits.

As for ROTF, yes the twins talked urban/street. Saying they talked black is racist since those speech patterns aren't a solely 'black' thing. This is why people that call them racist are racist. It's the problem of assuming a certain speech pattern is by nature only used by a certain ethnicity which is of itself racist.

The last Airbender had a lot of issues that don't compare to the other toon based movies. What happened there is also lost in a sea of complaints that don't fit. They made one real ethnicity change which was the fire nation, and the rest was story issues and filmmaking choices that made it hard to watch. Things like how they made the avatar state underwhelming, condensed too much material, used what's otherwise the slowest book of the series, and had a bad habit of over-exposition which dragged down the narrative.

Ninja Turtles doesn't look like it'll suffer from any of these issues. Nothing is concrete until a trailer hits, until then everything else is just fan overreactions without basis. Most of which is stemming from the fact everyone is adjusted to what's otherwise already a butchery of the original anyway.

This could be good, this could be bad. It's completely unknown. Early judgements generally don't mean squat. Look at TF animated, early reactions to star trek's reboot until people saw it, and many other properties.
