1.I think the villains in this movie look absolutely silly. Very much a disappointment
2. Scarlett Johansson is still absolutely garbage as Black Widow.
3. Hawkeye's involvement/story was a bit confusing.
4. Hulk is always confusing, but hilarious.
5. It was too short. lol

It wasn't a bad movie...i just didnt blow my mind like i thought it would. the movie did a lot of things right. I felt every character had an important role and had equal amount of screen time. Everyone had a shining moment. The story was good overall (but there were some parts that were confusing). The dialogue and interactions between the Avengers was fun.

I guess what i want to say is i was for sure this movie was gonna be my movie of the year, but i feel like GI Joe, Batman, Spiderman, Brave, etc now all have a chance to take that away from the Avengers. I almost want to say i liked Hunger Games better than Avengers...ALMOST...but no, it wasnt lol
Wow... I found the movie to be absolutely astounding, and it made Dark Knight look like the 1960's Batman. Everything about it demanded it would fail, but it succeeded. Too many main characters, too many egos, effects, time constraints, "comicbook film"... but it not only succeeds, it blows it out of the ballpark! Dark Knight is fantastic, but it focused on the relationship between two men (Batman and Joker), and their interaction with the world. All the other characters feed off that relationship... Avengers has to balance the relationship of Ironman, Capt. America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow and to a lesser extent Nick Fury (Jackson SHINES in this role finally - not just a bad Mutha, but a fatherly figure too). Joss Whedon takes all these elements and weaves them together not only so they are entertaining, but they feel honest. The event that brings the Avengers together as a team feels real. Nothing seems forced like a "What are the chances of him planning all this?" you got from Joker planning the whole chase, capture, and death of Rachel & disfiguring Harvey Dent.

The "main" Avengers, Ironman, Captain America, and Thor, all have moments in the spotlight, but also, they get a chance to build each other up as characters. It's not "Here's Wolverine, everyone respond to him." Each Avenger grows from their interaction.

I thought Tom Hiddleston as Loki was equally as masterful and subtle in his performance as Heath Ledger was as Joker. Black Widow and Hawkeye get a tad shortchanged in the movie, being the team's "normal humans" but there is definite character building and moments for each of them. I thought they did great. Ed Norton was great in Incredible Hulk, but Ruffalo is absolutely the best Banner hands down. You can see that the despite meditation, stress relief, etc, The Hulk is constantly right there, under the surface, digging to be released, acutely aware of everything that happens.

So anyway.... I'm gushing enough... It's definitely worth seeing. 6 out of 5 stars.
