Am I just a DC noob or do they repeat more bodys and molds than anyone else?

I think it's cool though how wonder woman is bigger than other females. Like super girl. bat girl is like nothing but legs
They do, which is fine since a lot of heroes have pretty much the same build. I just don't like it when they use ones that don't suit the character. Riddler is pretty buffed up in the jumpsuit version they made of him. I'm not sure but that may be the Batman buck they used for him. In the comics, he has been pictured as very muscular in some comics. The Blue Beetle mould would probably have done the trick.

I think the Flash on the otherhand looks just right. He has been drawn much thinner than some heroes in the past but he's also been depicted as quite built, Barry Allen looks about as buff as Hal Jordan and I think they chose the right bodies, I think the body they used for him works. It depends on the artist. Some of them draw the Flash (especially new age artists) with no muscles at all, they use totally straight lines but other artists draw him as a built looking guy you would not want to mess with. As a little boy growing up, I was really into the DC comics of the 80s and 90s and that's how I've always seen him portrayed.

I'm not an anti-Marvel/pro-DC guy but I will say that I like the fact that DC re-uses bucks because a lot of heroes have the exact body size even in the comics and I think it works. I don't want them to resculpt an entirely new body for Superman, Batman and Captain Marvel just for the sake of making them look a little different. They have the same body type. With the Marvel Legends toys, you get figures that don't even look like they belong in the same line because they try TOO hard to make the bucks look different to the point where some of the figures just look malformed and weird. I'll use the new Masters of the Universe Classics line as an example. Most of those guys have the same bodies and it works as well. If they made 50 different body types, would it improve the line just because Skeletor's nipples are a few millimeters higher up on his chest than He-man's and they gave Man-E-Faces an outy instead of an inny for a belly button and made Tri-Klop's arms half a centimetre longer than King Randor's? It would start looking weird.

My biggest gripe are the obvious height issues and when they use the WRONG body type. Using a S.T.E.E.L. sized body for Rocket Red and then a Superman body for Atrocitus is stupid. They have a buck of perfect height for Atrocitus, Despero. He's shorter than the majority of CnCs but taller than all the regular sized figures. Heck even Bane would have been a good start. Rocket Red should have just utilized a Batman body. Should've been no bigger than AzBats.

I used to be a lot angrier about Golden Age Atom but now I have him with his knees bent and his fists in a boxing position and I suppose it's passable but they really screwed up on him, too. Tim Drake and Kid Flash had JUST enough parts to make Golden Age flash without having to do any new sculpting except for the Cape, the head, the wrist guantlets and the waist. The exact same pieces they had to do anyway.

There's been a lot of complaining about the choices for characters in Club Infinite Earths but I could not disagree more. I think they made great choices. Jay Garrick has been a long standing must have for hardcore DC fans who want to complete their Golden Age Justice Society (sans Johnny Thunder). Batfans finally get Poison Ivy. Lantern fans are getting Atrocitus. We're getting Platinum and Tin and a lot of other guys that people who have been loyally buying most of this line have been begging for. Yes, they made a poor job of some of the characters, but the selection was stellar. I like most of the hardcore DC collectors already have the big seven.

I don't need more Batman variants and something tells me that Mattel knew that if they gave us another Batman, especially in a subscription based line, we would declare war on Mattel. They could have given us bad choices, they've done it in the past, even at a retail level. Shark and Tyr are great examples. I've never even HEARD of Shark. I thought he was an Aquaman bad guy. Tyr is a Legion bad guy who hardly anyone would have lost sleep over if they simply omitted him. It's not like they made ANY other Legion villains except Validus and they aren't even on the same team.

All I know is that could've been Huntress and Dr. Arthur Light, or Elongated Man and Trickster or Madhatter and Ra's Al Ghul. There were tons of more deserving characters for goodness sake but what can one do but make a long post on a toy forum and hope that Mattel employees skim over it at some point and make a decision influenced by your post? Well obviously that's happened already because we got Club Infinite Earths and like I said, SOME of the guys were poorly made, but they've got a great selection in my opinion and Jay Garrick looks just like Jay Garrick, what more do you want? If you think the character sucks, there's nothing more they can do for you but some of us actually want this guy.
