I felt it was an epic Spidey movie - with a great balance of realism and fantasy without going for the camp and wink wink nudge nudge of the previous movies..
Also for the first time in a spidey movie - I loved Peter as equally as Spider-Man and wasnt just marking time until he dons the mask for a change!
100% Agree. I've been a Spidey fan for over 20 years and he's my favorite comic character bar-none. I liked Raimi's first two films but not because they were all that great but because it was Spider-Man on the big screen. It was a first and fun but nowhere near what it should have been. And don't even get me started on the 3rd one. Total shit. But they all suffered from poor casting, acting, design, and story. But this new one was awesome! You can't always stay true to the original, but I think it did a good job of weaving (pun intended) a great Spider-Man Story. And visually it was wait for it, AMAZING!
