as for the buying limits. I agree that nobody should be able to buy them all. Depending on production, the limit should be 1 or 2 per ticket holder. Everybody at the con that wants one, should be able to get one. If you are not at the con, then it sucks and it's not fair, but that is life. We don't have the right to everything we want.

That doesn't take into account those that may change their mind on the money they spent on the item at the con and decide to sell theirs. Or for that matter how various companies are making it available to outside the con people via officially like HTS. Or those that use exclusives to offset their trip cost. Which kind of pokes holes in the entire "officially only those with a ticket for that year should be allowed access to the exclusives of that year." To be honest, what they should do for exclusives is produce the sets equilvalant to the amount of guests multiplied by 5. Let customers buy max at 4, and sell any overstock after the con via online. This way even those that buy for retail outlets are covered and expected, but everyone still has a fair shot. The problem is though, it's a gamble that an exclusive will be hot enough to move all of it.

Scalping is a little more negative connotation above reseller, so it probably has an extended terminology but being a moderately more recent slang term for reseller, no clue if it has ever been actively defined through the appropriate channels for language usage.
