If they're just wanting to create a fresh jumping on point, then they should follow DC's "One Year Later" example. Letting AvX be sort of the swan song, and final storyline, allow the entire universe to cool for some in continuity time where nothing much happens, and finally pick up each title with fresh new stories that are free of these mega crossovers. Allow the X-Men to just be X-Men, and deal with X-Men problems. Allow Spiderman to just be Spiderman and deal with Spiderman problems, and so on.

THAT is exactly what would make the 616 Marvel Universe accessible again to newcombers, and people (like me), who've been out of the loop for a decade for whatever reasons. (Mine is due to what I feel is just massively bad story direction decisions from Marvel's creative team. Story ideas exactly like Marvel Now)
You do not need to disreguard or eliminate existing continuity in order to freshen things up and make something approachable. History makes something rish. It's these clusterfuck storylines that screw everything up. And Marvel NOW is no different. It's not fixing the problem, it's making it worse.
And the problem will never be fixed until Quesada is fired.
Jim Shooter may have been a monster to work for, but god damn, did that man know how to organize a comic company!
Color me stupid, but they arent disreguarding or eliminating existing continuity.......
