Okay fellow Arkers, took me a few days to make it through 20+ pages of thread, but I'm on top now. Sorry if I respond to old stuff, just skim for your name or the interesting parts.

I laughingly suggested to Symbiote that they make it a Gigantic Battles BAF. Otherwise we're probably waiting for Thor 2...

I think this will be more cost effective on Hasbro's part just to shrink scale instead of making new molds, at least the face sculpt as I see Legends has better face sculpt than MU.
I guess I don't know enough about shrink scaling things, but I'd always heard that you basically have to retool a figure anytime you change size, and tooling is the most expensive part of the entire process.

Rare? Nah. Expensive? Yes. I suppose Rare could be a subjective term...

Crap. I've been buying them up left and right on vacation in anticipation of army builders wanting/needing them. I might just have a MOC Skrull Army of my own I guess.

Those aren't rares, they're impossibles. They've never seen full-scale production!

Couldn't find it. Was it MOC?

Incidentally, I talked to Hasbro specifically about this, and they had me give them a written list of figures which we've seen that have never seen full-scale production. They said they'd be great figures for future revision cases.
White tee Cage, Blonde Widow, and Short-haired Widow were on the list.

I agree he looks great, but I don't get why they're not putting him in the Spidey 2-Pack! Why use the shitty older mold when the new one is out at the same time? (Probably just to be able to produce them at the same time).

His entire upper body minus his head is completely the Hulk's. He's new from the no-neck up and the waist down.

Every year the display has to have a location, this year, the customizer (ONE GUY!) decided to make it Castle Von Doom. That same guy made the entire set and painted all the figures. Hasbro custom painter Tony and Dwight Stockham actually posed and put the figures in the case. They specifically changed small elements of the display every day to see if anyone would notice.

Some of us noticed an AWESOME change to Snowbird that I'll have to post pics of later (they're on my phone so someone remind me!).

A few pages back I posted pics of the SDCC Helicarrier. Its starting to grow on me. Well I finally had time to take some close up pics and do a review of it, narrated by Deadpool. (Caution, picture heavy post)
LOVE the quick-review by a figure! That's all I pretty much wanted to know anyway. Now I can leave mine happily in the box.

Of course it was FANTASTIC getting to meet all of you guys out there. You other Arkers need to start making plans so we can ALL meet up next year!

  • Dr. Doom and Spider-man
  • She-Hulk and Wolverine
  • Dr. Strange and Silver Surfer
  • Magneto and Captain America
  • Spider-Man and Rhino

Team Packs:
  • Inhumans- Karnak, Black Bolt, Medusa

  • Masters of Evil (Possibly)

SDCC Diorama Possibilities:
  • Sharon Carter (A repainted Black Widow with new hair at least)
  • Purple Man (repainted Destro, doubtful due to height)
  • Norman Osborn (repainted Destro again)
  • Snowbird Variant(s)

Gigantic Battles:
  • Possibly a Goliath and Whirlwind (due to artwork on Helicarrier box)

Toy Fair Ungrouped Prototypes:
  • Black Knight
  • Thor (Eric Masters)
  • Frog Thor
I cleaned it up a bit, and here's some notes:

In the SDCC Diorama Possibilities, were they two different Destros? They were wearing different suits!

"Gigantic Battles Ultimo" is actually meant to be a giant one-time custom Doombot. Multiple sources confirmed it's not meant to be a release in the future.

Dammit SWP, you're always getting these things first! I don't know if I'd be able to pay more to have things sooner. If you're doing that, it's my only respite.

I don't know about completely new. The exact quote from the Hasbro Panel is, "He's out for a facelift." To me, that means at least a new headsculpt, and the only time his 'face' has changed recently is either for the Phoenix 5, or for the aftermath, where he gets that big red X on the front. I suppose it could easily be a sunglasses Cyke head, since neither of the others line up with the other two characters in the case...

I don't think they'd do a Phoenix 5 variant case, as they'd have to re-tool the figures to put the specialized armor on them, but I'd be happy if they did it!

AvX issue # 2. Magnetic Fastball special

Ended up finding another black widow at Target. The last one. I did a head, hand, wrist bands, and waist band swap. Black Widow can actually hold a rifle now.
SICK Pictures, as always. I could just hear Colossonaut crashing into the carrier.

Nice find on the Widow! I poked around your Targets before I left and cleaned out the Skrulls.

Did anyone ask about that strange case that had spiderman with bag and a bunch of figs from different waves?
Did you buy the Rulk pack at the con? Was he at retail?

I found the answer to that weird case over on Marvelous News, it was a special case created and put together by the local toy shops in the Phillipines. They have a completely different collecting retail structure out there, so it got weird.

Holy crap, that's terrible!

I was the first person in line for questions at the panel, and the question I asked was how do they choose which figures get put into the rev cases. The BS answer we started to get was, "We look at which characters sold well and which ones are still hanging on pegs, but there's no one way it gets decided." Then they finished with the REAL answer, "It's random."

I was horrified. Included examples like solid Vision and Blade which are worth too much on eBay because they were hard to find.

Jesse Falcon's final insult as I was leaving was, "Just open your wallet and buy those on eBay!" What an asshole. I swear every answer he gave was just to shut people down, while Dwight Stall was at least pretending to give a crap about what our concerns are and what we care about.

It's WAY more massive than I expected. My problem is I don't know if I want to open the outer (shipping) box. I don't open my other exclusives like that, especially if they have custom artwork on the outside. But the outer box makes it EVEN BIGGER. I don't know what to do with it.

You realize you're just showing us you're really a custom-making Skrull, right? No human could be that good at those aliens.

Where'd you find the Invisible Girl pack, Jackie? Retail? I read the initials you said after this, but don't know what place that is...

You didn't get two Helicarriers? I was hoping to see someone make a stretch version out of two.
Hey! I love Kang too! I just don't have a need for multiple, though I would if I was a loosey goosey.

I ran into another group of collectors in line for the Hasbro panel who said that between the 4 of them in their hotel room, they had SIX Helicarriers in their hotel room. They said to look for pictures of a helicarrier pyramid online later. The crazy thing was that 4 of them were owned by ONE DUDE! He was going to open one as-is, leave one MIB, and then take the last two and combine them into a mega-super-helicarrer!
