It makes complete sense. Supply and demand, only produce enough to make a profit, that way the consumer will buy out the product, and be left waiting for their next plastic crack fix.

Generally the more one makes of something the cheaper it is to make so they could either make more money or offer lower prices. They just don't want to sit on a warehouse of product if there is no interest. That's how they lose money.
