The date on the offer says "12/31/12" as the postmark final date so I figured I'd go for it. Everything went smooth, took me to a page with the redemption certificate and everything. When I opened the certificate, something caught my eye immediately.

It has a different postmark by date of 1/31/12. Now unless time travel has been invented, something is off. I have emailed them to get a straight answer. Their FAQ lists the figure so it appears he IS the current figure once again but the certificate is off. I'll let everyone know once I get a reply.

I don't mind, I really wanted to read FEAR ITSELF and the other events they have up and I enjoy the selection I saw they had.

Just won't be pleased if they say "Oh well, tough luck". If they tell me just send it in and it's all ok, I'll be cool. Just that postmark by date catches the eye.
Well, I'll just tell you all about my Doom ordeal.

I planned on getting Doom at SDCC. Signing up for my own sub, and carrying away the Doom figure from the Marvel booth on Preview night. I get there, and the guy who runs digital subscriptions tells me that they didn't bring any figures and don't have the setup to do subs at the booth because last year, the ladies in charge of that ended up not nearly as busy as they were paid to be.

So I plan on hopping onto marvel.com and signing up there on Sunday night since I don't have internet other than on my phone until then. I was a little miffed that my Doom outer box is going to have shipping crap printed all over it.

Each day at the con, I swing by where the digital subs were given out and see that they have computers up. I ask about the subs, and each day I get a different response. Yes, we're doing subs; No, we're not doing subs this year; Yes, you can sign up here but our internet connection is going out and the figure will still be mailed to you.

So Sunday night, I get back to internet and hop on at 10 pm PST. ONLY TO FIND THAT THE DOOM SUB HAS ENDED.

I was so pissed! They were operating on EST, and shut the opportunity down without saying that they were going to do that at midnight, and NO ONE at the Marvel booth EVER knew that was going to happen! I checked, and even the email and the online message DIDN'T say that it was over on the 15th.

So I go to Marvel.com customer service and file a complaint. The guy gets back to me the next day saying that if I send him my CC info, he'll fix it for me. I send him my CC info and never hear a peep back from them. I email them back once, twice, three times and never hear a peep.

At this point, I'm pissed that they're jerking people around. Maybe I'm the only one, but still, one unhappy customer is one too many.
