They are Extremis. The one coming technicly is also Extremis, but is also the Civil War armor. So yeah modern or extremis works for series 1 wave 1 figure. The bigger display one they released awhile back(masterpiece? Masterworks? Icons? I forget the exact name, the slightly bigger ones with display bases and artillery fire), also has extremis on the back, but doesn't reflect any extremis in an ironman comic... Because it was his Extremis armor used in a hulk comic 2 parter. So yes extremis is 'right' and 'wrong' for all of the above.

They wouldn't have to paint a triangle on the DD body either. It would be just as easy to press a soft plastic over armor to make modular or centurion armor then add a new head, but with the IM line coming up what's the point? Just make one for it instead. They already redid the classic armor for it with XMO style legs. So I'd say any Ironman Armor is fair game for 'reuse' in the line. Especially since that MU one specificly has already been released twice(single card and secret wars), getting a variant in the GBP, and then an entire new mold in the IM2 line.

I never thought they would paint over it either, I'm just saying that even if they used the DD body(which is REALLY not that bad) they wouldn't use the exact body... i.e. there would be enough modification to be different.

I doubt they would use that body anyway.. Have they done what the did with SHSD Iron Man on any MU figs, slipping a plastic chest piece over a figure yet?
