I hear ya I wish I paid more attention to my dad when I was a kid rather than get distracted. Now he'd rather have someone else do the work. Great Idea with the filing cabinets...I have all 2000 of my comics bagged/boarded and stored in 12 plastic rubbermaid boxes...Horrible set up...takes up way too much space. The filing cabinets will hold a little over 4200 (2100 each). It replaced a huge stack of long boxes (I think I had 15, maybe a few less). I love them. They take up less room and I have instant access. You have to get Legal file cabinets though. That will give you room for two rows. I took two pics to give you an idea. I created bracers using some foam board and some small tension rods. Before the foam board I just had the rods but they were putting a lot of pressure on the comics. The foam board takes all the pressure and distributes the weight evenly.
