Without knowing exactly what characters you have and that you are low in level, I'd say you'll probably have to shell out some money to blow past a couple of the more annoying quests, especially the last one where you need pheonix/colossus/sw.

Being high level and having all the characters, I was able to get Emma in about 12 days. Really, the hardest part is being patient for your daily 50 u-iso. I ended up not spending a single gold bar or any real money. Just slow and steady.

Ya I think these special ops are for folks who are at a high enough level and have the heroes other than that, you can forget it.

I was the same as well with MB, def. prefer Emma though over MB, and she def. was a lot easier to get, the fact that once you unlocked her you get her, unlike MB well you had to still use CP's to get her after you unlocked her....
