Posted this over in the Coupon Thread...

Tried to go to TRU today and the coupon wouldn't load on my phone. I couldn't understand why, but I just said screw it and completed my purchase. I later called Customer Service and was informed that they ended the promo and cancelled all of the coupons that had been printed but not used. They couldn't give me a good explanation as to why, but they claim it was something wrong with the way the coupons were being generated and it was out of their control. Since they could not fix it, they just cancelled the promotion and are not issuing any sort of compensation to those that did print it out. Just wanted to make sure everyone out there knows that, even thought the coupon says it expires on the 16th, the store may or may not take it if you already have it printed out. If you haven't printed it out, your're pretty much SOL.

Also, the woman there was trying to figure out why it wasn't working either. She basically thought I didn't know how to use my phone and borrowed it from me. She tried to load it and couldn't figure it out. She said that they had been accepting coupons in the morning, but the system stopped accepting them in the afternoon. Since the system started to reject them, they were doing manual price overrides. TRU's 800 Customer Service told me that all the stores were informed to no longer accept the coupons, regardless of whether or not they were printed out. I really think that it was because people were trying to use the same coupon over and over again. Each barcode was unique, somewhat like your Rewards Card #. If you attempted to use it again, the system would reject it. However, sales people were doing manual overrides because they thought it was a system error.

EDIT: In regards to the Target pricing, it's the same here in SoCal. A few months ago, Target had lower prices that TRU for MU figs. If I remember correctly, it was 8.49. Then, Target raised their price from to 9.89 or something like that. Soon after, prices went up again to, I think, $10.49. This was followed by a $10.99 price tag and now $11.29. I've been watching the prices on toys fluctuate so much at Target, and it's utterly ridonkulous. They are doing the same thing with all of their toys... well at least those that I've seen in the Action Figs aisle. Most of them go up, then down, then a huge jump up, then down again, then.... you get the picture.
