I have a pretty solid X-men collection from the original line, but I picked up the SDCC set just for trade, but man, I keep looking at them, including the new X-force deadpool and the 2-pack Warpath....
I wanna get them all now....
But damn, I'm way to wrapped up in MU, I think maybe I should just sell all my old ML and the SDCC pack and have extra MU money...
I am convinced that nobody can convince a collector to do anything other than what he/she really wants... and being that most collectors have OCD, it is a pointless exercise to try and steer a collector anywhere other than his/her destiny = obsessive compulsion.

At a swap meet once, my friend asked about a McSpidey and an Astonishing Wolverine ML's, my friend has no idea about the whole market price and such, so when he was given a huge total, he was surprised and politely said he couldn't afford that and walked away. Upon walking away, the dealer said to his friend: "F*cking poor ass losers, they don't get ML." So I gave him the bird and told him to come at me bro. Luckily things didn't escalate quickly Ron Burgundy style. While there are some freakin' awesome ML collectors, the line is way to scalped and around alot of parts, poorly distributed. Makes it hard to enjoy collecting.
same goes for MU. especially now that the line is super trendy. there are many new collectors out there and their perception of ML collectors can be quickly and unjustly tarnished by statements like the above.

let's be specific and not general. you were at a Swap Meet... not exactly the classiest place on Earth.

i've saved sooo much with my ML collection by shopping patiently. that's the only secret i know. don't bite on stupid prices because your ass (not you specifically, scythe) can't fucking wait it out. smh. i swear some collectors can be retarded.

Some of my all time favs were 90s Beast, Colossus, both tiger striped and brown Wolverine, Juggernaut, Sabretooth, Bishop, Iron Fist and Power-Man, the 6 pack Spidey, Green Goblin, and Lizard, Dr. Octopus, and wave 3 Thor. I could go on and on. So many Awesome figures.

But when they missed, it was disgusting. Lady Deathstrike, Zemo, Cyclopes, Angel, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Movie Jean. Again, I could go on and on.

I'm a consistency man, I like all my figures to be in scale and in a similar style. Really easy to notice when they're not at 6".

But still the same issues plague MU. Just not as much. I can deal with a crappy figure here and there. But when it's a character you really like and want, and he comes out all messed up it can make you want to cry.

I like that things seem to improve as time goes on with Hasbro. They're cheap as hell, but the have some innovative ways of doing things. All the soft plastic accessories they use instead of making new sculpts works really well and is a plus for customizers. The fact that they keep on adding new articulation to sculpts. Still waiting for an ab crunch. But the best thing about the line in my opinion is the scale. saves so much space and fit's with all the other lines and opens things up for those wanting to go deeper and deeper into the craze that can be collecting. I'm looking at you WalkingDeadpool.

So to get to my point, I sold off 98% of my ML collection and with the exception of missing a few from time to time (Power-Man + iron Fist) I really could care less. MU is an Awesome line. It's like meeting a great lady after you've had your heart broken. You find something good enough and you just move on. Sure you think about her sometimes, but that shit passes quick when you got something sweet to appreciate.
everyone has their fancy. i don't think there was anyone as hardcore for MU these past 3 years as i was. i was collecting the line before quite a bunch of collectors nowadays. i had every MOC from wave 1 to wave 11. all the exclusives, etc.

then, one day, i got bored. plain and simple. the lull in new MU allowed me to APPRECIATE other lines - hence, Marvel Legends. i always hated on ML because i was a 3.75" purist. i scoffed at anything other than my favorite scale. it didn't make sense to me... until i allowed myself to grow a new branch and expand my outlook - this goes for life as well, and not just toys.

don't think about it, do something about it.
