Darksiders 2

I enjoyed this one a lot, but felt there were some places where it lost focus. The combat stuff was well done and the upgrade system intuitive and effective. Once you started getting deep into new moves and powers, fighting with strategy became the key.

The story, I thought, needed to be a little more focused. Throughout, "Corruption" felt a bit too undefined and you didn't meet the real face of it until very late in the game. Also felt merchants were mostly needless. Enemies and chests dropped a lot of weapons, armor and gear. And I would find more powerful stuff within minutes of buying the top of the line item from a merchant spot.

Other than that, the game offers a lot to do. There's a ton of side quests. Also, the dungeons and puzzles offered some nice challenges, without being too frustrating. the voice actors did a great, over-the-top job. But them Music really stole the show here. Plus, the game is long, which I loved.
