You must be watching some bootleg because the Mattel Voltron toy does not look like the anime. It looks like it derives more inspiration from the giant Trendmasters Voltron if anything. The lions weren't very boxy in the cartoon they looked more rounded and proportionate, their silhouettes were like lean lions with the exception of the black lion which was bigger. NO toy matches the anime look of Voltron/Golion, not even the Popy DX nor Toynami MPC. The closest we will ever get to an anime accurate Voltron/Golion is if Tamashii decides to make an SOC or SRC.

The automorph, like Crazy Jetty mentioned, killed this for me too. I would have preferred more proportionate lions with articulated legs, so that the lions could be posed a lot more. Instead it is obvious that Mattel was aiming to prioritize the combined mode.
