Maybe it's designed like that for better durability- IDK. But yes all 3 of mine are like that including the opened one, which is perfectly perfect.

yeah, forgot to mention that if the peg isn't obviously popped out, then normally it just looks like the sides are peeled to the sides a ways. a buddy and i were mentioning how we kept wanting to sand or carve away at em to be flush.
