Got my series 2 TWD figures and I am VERY pleased. McFarlane really stepped it up, so much so that I hope he may re-release the first wave somewhere down the line in hopes to not only make the Daryl figure less than $100 on ebay but also to correct the paint issues. There are still a few but they do not take away from the overall quality of these figures. The thing that hurts them the most is the paint aps. The sculpts look very great to me, but if you ever see someone with a 5 o'clock shadow and no eyebrows (like one of the ricks I found) you know something is a little off. He looked like Powder in a sherriffs hat. The Shane figures suffer from Groucho eyebrow syndrome, just a little too much. The only other thing was the joints on Rick's arms. They use a Revoltech-ish peg which is great but it makes the arms a little long at the wrists so it is a bit weird, and the sculpt on his free hand looks like a prosthetic hand instead of a natural relaxed hand- a fist may have been better. I know this seems like a lot but it is all really minor. The zombies are greatly improved- no more sloppy blood. Everything is pretty much spot on.
In short, McFarlane needs to work on the paint- hopefully it will be under control by wave 3.
