One more Transformers Fall of Cybertron toy gallery for you! This time we're spotlighting the Decepticon Communicator,
Soundwave
. There's not a lot to be said about Soundwave that has not already been said about Soundblaster, who is also out in the same assortment. He's a big, chunky toy - refreshingly reversing the trend of making the toys smaller / lighter, Soundwave feels a whole lot more solid than a few of the Prime Voyagers have done. Soundwave's built around his "deploy minions" gimmick, which is fun to do and works decently well.
What will ultimately be the make-or-break for many is that Soundwave is a built out of scale with the other War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron characters released so far - he needs to be for the Data Disk gimmick - although he is a very good size next to Classics Megatron, so there's always the possibility of having this be your Classics Soundwave. If you're a one deco only guy, you might well want to go for Soundblaster instead so you've got two different characters in your collection.
However you do it, I strongly recommend picking up one of the two, because he is a very good and solid toy, one of the best and most fun Voyagers to come along this year. Solidly recommended.
