Well from what I can gather of what is coming, we're going to see an upgrade in some machine artillery, and robotics as I'd assume the 'movie/resoluteish' molds key up for some of that. Which will then probably slack off to focus on other in aspects later like all the ninja characters that seem to fall to the wayside like jynx, or whatever else they feel will be popular and integrate it into the line or push towards a new line.

So my predictions at least? Going strong with a lot of potential here thanks to the ashiko mold and bike. Counting the other prototypes, all we're missing is some battle suit-ish soldiers, hopefully accel suits with character(Ninja snake eyes stealth accel suit with multiple swords etc). Which will then either do well or flop, which could lead to more character driven classic aspects. Or something of this nature. But that depends probably on how well the mechs do as well, which will hopefully make them reintroduce BATS into the line, especially ninjabats. (Think late 80s to modern with in space, eco warriors, fliers, ninja line, valor vs venom, the BATS war, sigma 6 and more. Now hasbro has their own channel, brand name recognition +tv show +kids +merchandise=money )

It's either that or they go resolute and comic figures or back to 25th influenced figures.
The problem is in the conveyance of the enemy's capabilities, and since cobra is a high tech capabilites combatant, the resources are endless for the story directions or 'toylines'. Especially as they escalate their means of operation.

So GI Joe as a whole will always be around for now due to brand name recognition, but it's demeanor and conveyance may change. The movies help push recognition even higher as well. The movie recognition and expansion also gives them room to continue doing and redoing movie-stylized classic iconic characters in all sorts of means to fill gaps between series if needed, or even just expand the line in general. (Tomax Xamot, among all the other characters still left un-modernized.) Movie shelf space stops, new toon starts, cycle repeats until oversaturation exceeds audience expansion from mainstream exposure. The new channel also garnishes possibilites of GI Joe pretty much becoming like a soap opera too eventually, or any other form of media programing they feel can best compete in timeslots while still being recognizable to a modern audience... GI Joe the other meat of spinoffs and show nods for an in universe feel...

It's like Transformers in that way. =)
