When did they announce the "retirement"? I really seem to remember them announcing it and then we saw new figures with the mold soon after.

I think that would harken to Troubleshot's coment about them produceing figures in advance of "retireing" a mold. most figures are planned and produced months, sometimes years in advance, if they announced a certain mold being retired tomorrow you'd probably see figures useing it for several waves. its like when Tupac got shot and kept putting out albums for the next decade.
