I had quit really collecting years ago. Soon afterwards I sold off almost everything I had. The only things I bought then were the McFarlane Movie Maniacs and the occasional movie-based figure from NECA.

When 25th GI Joes came out that all changed. I really got back into them and ate up everything I could find. And then Marvel Universe came out and I had to have those as well.

It's funny how I had completely kicked the habit only to get caught back up in it again. To be perfectly honest, I don't really regret selling off my collection from before. I had gotten over all my toys at the time and the money I got from selling them came in handy. If you do decide to stop, I would suggest you consider keeping at least a few things that you especially enjoy more than others. Plus, like Evantainment mentioned above, you can re-collect in the future if you ever have the desire to do so .
