2014 is bringing us the 30th anniversary of Transformers as well as Transformers 4; and the anniversary celebrations have already begun in the Generations line! First up in this 30th anniversary series we have for you a look at a pair of toys that have
literally just been spotted
at US retail - Legends Class
Optimus Prime with Roller
and
Bumblebee with Blaze Master
.
Both of these two packs are rather cool little toys. The Optimus Prime and Bumblebee are each approximately the size of a Cyberverse Commander or Scout class toy, and are based on their IDW Comics designs - Optimus from the Mike Costa ongoing, and Bumblebee on his Robots in Disguise design, although with an Earth alternate mode. They have decent articulation for their size, though Bumblebee lacks movement in his head. Their partners, Roller and Blaze Master, are light on transformation - vehicle to robot boils down to standing them up - but they serve as fun accessories to the main 'bots in their two packs. They're effectively Targetmasters with alternate modes, Targetmaster Micromasters if you will.
Overall, these are fun toys. They are simple, but great value considering they include two figures for only slightly more than a Cyberverse Commander. The designs on them are excellent, full of detail and good articulation. Well worth picking up when they hit US retail.
