Well, just like Savin, the movie version of Jack Taggert (aka Firepower I) bears little resemblance to the comic version. Jack never had Extremis powers in the comics (or any other powers - he wore a suit of armor just like most Iron Man villains). I'm thinking the writers probably just dropped in some names of old Iron Man foes as fill-in and didn't really pay any attention to their actual comic history.

Another odd tidbit: in the film his last name is spelled "Taggart". Simple spelling error or done on purpose to separate him from the comic counterpart?

And the "race change" thing in the game is just Savin with his Extremis powers activated.
