Folks do know that you generally can't just "hand the game over to a new developer" right?

Even if Marvel decides Playdom has somehow violated their licensing contract, Playdom owns the code for the game. They wouldn't be able to use it for anything unless the changed all the character names/designs/etc... to non-Marvel but Marvel can't just say "OK Playdom, hand it over to this other developer." Licensing contracts generally don't work that way.

Marvel could strip the license (if they could prove Playdom violated their contract...which they probably haven't regardless of player complaints), but if they did, it'd be an entirely new game that would emerge from a different developer, not just Avengers Alliance being run by someone else.
