Our only hope at this point is for Hasbro to take a major hit due to there own incompetence, realize what they suck at and finally hire someone (like Vonner) who gives a rats ass and can drive this concept forward with imagination, passion for the product, and an ear opened to the consumer. But that would involve them doing something right, and its been a wile....
I don't mind the rebranding. 4-5 years is a hell of a run for a toyline. I don't mind the reuse of parts, either. Mattel made their whole 6 inch line with only 3 different body types it seems. Also, there have been problems when Vonner was there, so I am not about to canonize the guy. Remember the case pack outs for the Thor movie or Iron Man 2? And don't forget Hasbro stopped listening to fans and doing polls, q&a's, etc early, maybe just after the first year.

With all that said, they did a ton of great things. Their biggest issues with case pack outs that satisfy retailers, collectors, and casual customers alike shouldn't be as hard as they make it. Arrange waves that have heavy hitters around Christmas to hook casual buyers. Mix one or two obscure characters per wave for diehards. Set up a pr manager who will at least make customers think Hasbro gives a damn. Finally, cool it with impossible to find variants. They cost money to tool, make that money. Hasbro doesn't get a cent from secondary sales, so eff' em.
