I realize there just covering there asses from there poor distribution during the initial release, but c'mon some people have paid Ebay prices for figs that are about to be put back out some as recent as Nova!

I mean no offense in saying this, but are you serious? Making figures that people want to buy is the name of the game. Collecting toy lines like this shouldn't be seen as a way to make money or like investing in stocks because that it likely to be a very bad idea. Collecting because you like the stuff is better for your health. Nearly every product we buy will never resell for what we paid. Who knows if people will still be paying for these items in 10 years. Maybe super cheap figures with awesome articulation will be made in the future through some new technology and people will forget about all the old stuff.

If anyone paid an inflated price for a figure they have only themselves to blame and the others that paid it. Online stores and ebay sellers make up these secondary market prices for figures before they ever ship. When they make assumptions that Professor X or Nova will be worth a lot and start selling high preorders they CREATE artificially inflated prices before the product ever hits retail stores. This leads to people buying them up to resell at said high prices, etc. A more naturally high priced figure is Vision that was easy to get when he first came out but didn't ship much and demand grew. Now it's gotten so crazy people just want Vision because of his high price tag instead of for the figure itself (which is kinda lame). I've only paid more $25 for a couple of figure that I just had to have but for the most part waiting for a deal or reissue pays off.

I don't see them releasing many hard to find figures. Which ones are you talking about specifically? Stuff in this new wave like Surfer, Iron Fist, and Iron Spider were never hard to get. A figure like Nova has barely even been shipping for a few months so they absolutely should be making more of him for the stores. If they want to put new packaging on them then so be it. I don't think Hasbro should care much about what people paid on the secondary market because that isn't money going to them and they say kids are the ones that buy the bulk of these lines anyway. That said I think they do care a little or else they would put out more Visions or other high priced figures. I wish they would release actual rare figures like X-Force AA or Vision. I think the exclusives are what is really aimed at collectors.

I just dropped near 200$ to finally have Vision because I was tired of waiting for him to be re-released (the lack of inclusion in the AWC box was the last straw for me). I wouldn't bat an eye if he showed up tomorrow in case assortments though.

I dunno. It seems an odd way to look at it. Once these things enter my home, they've no 'value'. They're just another figure in the collection.
That is sort of the way I look at it. They do have some value if for some reason I need to sell them but I'm not tracking how much my collection is worth all the time. I could understand being a little annoyed if I paid $100 for a figure like XFAA and the next week he showed up on HTS (which happened) but that is just someone I would have to make peace with since I am an adult who decided to spend the money.
