I, as a serious collector enjoy the hunt, if anyone could get any figure at any time for retail prices there would be no challenge, its like baseball cards, comics, or anything that is "collected" The chase of "Rare" items, the bragging rites of a great find, struggling to complete a collection, those are my drugs! and continually re-hashing the same molds over and over is lazy, profiteering bullshit! what's there argument for doing this? to attract new collectors to a dead line? Why? Three years ago I got my red hulk at retail, (after much searching)now I can go to BBTS and buy one in a "new" package! It just gives me a case of the why bothers. think of it like this, you work hard bust your ass and buy a brand new Porsche, then the next day the government gives everyone else the same car for free, if your ass is not chapped, your either an dead, a hippie, an idiot, or you put no value on your time and effort. If you truly believe that toys have no value, ask yourself this: if they were bio-degradable, ten year shelf life then they rot, would you buy them? I guess I'm just a relist, I'm not going to sit on a moral high horse spouting on about the "virtues" of collecting, everything has a monetary value assigned by the market. you want to play, you have to pay that's life. And it "bothers" me when, (to complete a collection) I need to buy the same figure 3,4,or 5 times. I know there's no gun to my head, but FU its my hobby.
Hahaha. Different strokes, I guess. I take no particular satisfaction in a figure hard won. Here in Quebec, the figures are often nigh impossible to come by, so it gets tedious to pay shipping (up to 20$ per figure on shipping alone) to assemble all the desired pieces.

I don't take pleasure in 'the hunt' and just find myself annoyed at holes in my collection. I'm by no means a completist (Hasbro can choke on thier Spider-man's and his villains for all I care), but I have a pressing need to possess the figures that I desire.

I hopped on the line with the release of the Captain America movie line. I just wanted Steve to chill with my Joes...who needed Bucky...who needed Black Widow (who was my gateway to the MU line, HA!).

So, for me, it's nice when they re-release figures in cases. I can buy an entire case with minimal duplicates (why I'm hunting this recent wave: I wanted only two figures on a case of duplicates).

But, like I said before, I don't much care what you or anyone else have nor how easy or hard it was to get. I care only about my collection. If I paid too much for a figure that you found for cheap, that doesn't bother me. At least now we can both gush over how awesome that figure is.
