Dunno if it's the best but one of my most memorable was getting ML series 1 Iron Man from Target when ML Series 1 was still on the shelves at most stores.

My actual best deal is probably $70 shipped from ebay I got G1 Shockwave, Soundwave, Jetfire and Metroplex. Metroplex was missing the most stuff and the other three were complete or close to it.
