How exactly were the Characters chosen for the DC Club? I mean I do see Fan input in only a few other wise it seemed as if you went all over the map and just picked a Random character (Batzarro) or decided to just Halfass it and throw up another Varient instead of giving us something new (Flash Wally, 1990's Aquaman, & Superboy Conner) because thats part of why the club failed
The club failed because DC fans are tremendously divided and fragmented. Plenty of people wanted 90's Aquaman, Conner Superboy ,and Wally West (90's Kyle Rayner was another popular choice, as well as the 70's/80's Zatanna from the "Satellite Era" Justice League). They're opposed by people that think that absolutely under no circumstances whatsoever should any slot in the subscription go to variants of already-existing characters, and that would rather see tons of C and D list characters get made before they'd even consider such variants. Then you have fans that are looking for characters from any particular "niche" of the DCU (Batman characters, Golden Age/JSA characters, Legionnaires), and don't subscribe if they don't get exactly what they want).
In the grand scheme of things, the DCU is simply too big for 12 figures a month to please "most of the people most of the time."
