Ok, and yes, toy companies have been doing that for literally decades. However, any parts that require new tooling are additional costs on top of what was already spent on the initial mold.

Each toy line has its own budget. Just because they may use the same IP does not necessarily mean they all share the same money pool. DCUC didn't make enough profit to keep it at retail and it didn't make enough pre-sales to keep it going as a subscription line anymore. End of story.
