The skirt is soft flexible plastic so it doesn't interfere with the hips at all. Very impressive sculpting overall. There's probably a good Hemsworth sculpt under the heavy paint on the face and eyes, but the hair is nicely sculpted. And his arms aren't too short like on the first movie Thor figures. Overall a definite step in the right direction for the movie toys. And I cannot tell you how much happier I am with the 90 degree ball and socket hips - I hated the 45 degree hips.
