With the fourth figure in the Transformers Figure Subscription Service arriving in mailboxes now, let's backtrack and take a look at the second release in the Figure Subscription Service -
Slipstream
! Slipstream, also known as la femme Starscream or Susan, originated as a female Starscream clone in Transformers Animated and has since been established as a member of the Aligned Continuity by the Transformers Exiles novel by Alex Irvine. That is what this version of Slipstream represents - and appropriately, she uses a Transformers Prime Starscream mold as her base.
Slipstream as noted uses the First Edition Starscream mold. She's a retool meaning she got a new head, which makes her stand out a bit from the other versions of the First Edition Starscream mold. Her deco is excellent and spot on to the character's Transformers Animated roots. It's an unusual choice of colors rarely seen outside of the likes of Generation 2 Ramjet, but Slipstream rocks the deco without looking overly gawdy. Her poseability is excellent, though given the small footprint of her feet she does sometimes have trouble balancing, but not nearly as much as you might expect from looking at her feet.
Overall Slipstream is a fun addition to the collection, and a fantastic reuse of a great mold. Check out our gallery and see what you think:
