I can understand how frustrating TRU can be. Unfortunately TRU has a very wish-washy price match policy that has changed week to week at times. I worked at a TRU from 2005 until the end of 2013 and I have seen many instances where they waffle on what their policy is but this is generally caused by poor communication and execution on the corporate level that trickles down to the stores and hurts the customers. With a large retail chain like TRU you will get the inconsistencies as well as poor managers here and there who do not act in the best interest of customer service. It's unfortunate that you had an incident like that like I said though it's rare that the store ever gives out gift cards for just noticing an issue with merchandise.

Yup I agree. I don't know which state you worked in, but this one in southern Cali has the best service I've ever seen. The store is always clean and all the reps are helpful. Everytime I have needed something they go beyond their means. They once didn't have an item which showed they had like 5 in stock and shipped to me for free. Don't know if they even charge for shipping but they got it to me for free. By the way, what you are telling me is that people can buy items out the wrong item and return it and no one notices or some reps just let it slip?
