Posted this over in the tfw IM thread, but figured I'd post it here, too.

Well, I didn't make it to Toys R Us today, but I did manage to get to a Toyland instead, and it appears all the major toy stores are now selling Iron Man 2 figures. Yay! So I got to bring this guy home today:

All in all, a great figure. The Hasbro-hips are a lot more manageable at this scale. They still suck, but not as badly as the 3 3/4 scale figures' hips. The additional poseability is great. The added joint in the elbow doesn't add a huge amount of extra poseability, but it's enough to be noticeable. Also, the wrist hinges are simply fantastic. I'm still shocked that a North American mass-released toy came with multiple hands. Which, I might add, are just fantastic to have and super easy to swap.

The silver bits actually look quite good on it. I passed on the 6" Mk VI last weekend in favour of the 3 3/4 because I didn't like the look of the silver, but in hand, it's actually really nice. The paint job is great, but there's a bit of gold slop on my Iron Man's right elbow. The gold, at this scale, is simply gorgeous. The Arc reactor, from I can tell, it still a sticker, but with silver trim around it. Also, the 6" Mk VI trades the gold detailing on the abdomen for silver detailing.

Also, a really great touch:

Iron Man can look forward when flying now!

One point to watch for though is the shoulder armour. It's attached directly to the torso, but it's made of a softer plastic and is only attached by one little nub on one side and a mostly flat end on the other. I've already had the right shoulder armour come off and getting it back in resulted in some damage to the plastic.

Over all, this is version of the figure rocks. It takes all that was flawed with the first movie line figures and fixes them, and takes everything that's great about the 3 3/4 figures and improves on it. I will definitely be picking up War Machine at some point.

As a side note, Toyland also has the Marvel Select versions that are at Borders...yet Taiwan doesn't have a Borders Easy pass though, the price tag is too high and the figures really weren't that impressive, especially compared to the fantastically detailed and articulated 6" figures.

Oh, if anyone is wondering what to expect to pay for these, I can tell you in Taiwan, they cost about $20 US, which is what we pay for a Deluxe Transformer. That should give you a ballpark figure to work with.

@scarecrow, the head poseability is miles and away better than the 3 3/4 figures'. As you can see in the above pic, Iron Man can now look up when he's flying
