I too like the obcure characters they're bringing, but also agree it's weird that they're doing so many at the beginning. I don't think not knowing who a character is keeps me from buying the fig, tho. If the fig is cool, it gets bought and I'll figure out who he/she/it is later.
But the lack of good articulation isn't the only thing keeping me from buying this. They're just shiat figures overall. The articulation prevents them from looking right in *any* pose other than
just standing there
, but they're also sculpted pretty piss-poorly. The monkey hands, the teeny heads, the incompetent way Hawkman is shorter than *everyone* else in the line thus far. The figs just fail in pretty much every category.
I've bought Adam Strange and the Hawkman 3pack, and the actual figures are getting tossed straight in the trash in favor of using their gear to custom up actual
action
figures.
So, yeah; adding articulation (and no, SW-level isn't enough as them damnable swivel hips suck rancid rhino taint); but it'd just be the first of several steps they need to take to be comparable.
