Like what hasbro is currently doing with GBPs.
Giant man is a must have, wolverine(that's like a bonus!) and Sentinel, though the skrull was iffy, the cap helped push it, Galactus and Silver surfer (Always a marvel must). These are alleged high market and demand characters or rare with push support. So that seems to be the trend.

For example, a fantastic 4 pack with mole creature is extremely likely down the road, for being so famous. Or at least a 'playset' someday, someday with figures, because fantastic 4 is so marketable. But that is more likely when or if they get a new movie as well, so why push right now?

Then there's stuff like Hulk, wendigo and wolverine, that could be a good gimmick, and give a rarer figure out there. Timing again though comes to mind with the upcoming X-Stuff, or even avengers stuff. This would seem more like a store exclusive than anything.

Some of the issue is timing, who do you cover for exposure, best market for characters, and avoiding oversaturation too fast.

I guess this would be why they go so slow in character releases, and seem so methodical in choices. So we could see some cool stuff if we keep making sure that the line is strong with support. It's limitless with ideas, but we really have to show that the market is there for them.

It's kind of the same with the comic packs. Pushing the right character combinations with obscurity for maximum sales.
Cyclops and phoenix, perfect pairing, ditto to dark avengers, and mainstays to push the wrecking crew, even nightcrawler to push the more obscure storm. With support, I see no reason that this line won't grow to the size of the starwars brand in figure aisles with variety, and accessories or mulitpacks.
I know this is a bit of a tangent here and getting too far from the point of this thread. But I agree that we need to support this line and trust that with the methodical choices we will get everyhing we want.

My only concern is is that the new wave of these toys are NO WHERE. At the end of HAMMER wave 1 they offered a re-release of some older SHIELD figures in assortment packs which a lot of stores bought. Now a lot of stores have an over abundance of SHIELD series and the HAMMER stuff is in the back or hasnn't been ordered.

Hasbro took down the majority of the SHIELD figures off HTS.com for this reason I'm sure, so that stores can't innudate the market with old product. But....I just really hope that in the summer new figures will emerge. I guess I'm just nervous that.........only when new product is available can we support the MU line and...without new product available, there is no support
