The Optimus Prime photos were used in the original Generation 1 Optimus Prime instruction booklet which used photos of the toy. The pictures of Grimlock, meanwhile, were used on Grimlock's box for the sequence depicting the transformation of the toy (the "Start... change... change... finish" sequence).
