Earlier today, Filmdrunk posted an article about an alleged script leak for GI Joe 2. Here's what they posted initially:

This morning I got an email from I guy with a story about how he has a friend who works in a studio. The story was sort of involved, but long story short, the friend saw the script for G.I. Joe 2 (written by Zombieland’s Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese) entitled “Twin Parallax” lying around, so he stole it, and left a copy in its place. The emailer included a PDF of the script in question.

Filmdrunk was skeptical, and with reason, the situation reeks of HE TELL ME. So Steve Weintraub of Collider.com sought out to get the truth, and contacted scripwriter Rhett Reese, who replied:

Steve, it’s a total hoax, this ‘Twin Parallax’ script. I’ve seen the cover page. It does have our names on it and a fake Paramount watermark. I didn’t read the script itself, but it’s absolutely not ours, and thus is bogus. The real first draft of GI Joe 2 is not yet finished and has not gone into the studio.

With 2 years to possibly go until the premiere of GI Joe 2, who knows then the script will be available.
