I know this post was some time ago, but I read an interview with the guy who wrote that particular story and he said he wrote it as though Hank flailed his arm and Janet got in the way, but the artist drew it to look like Hank took a proper swing at her face. He said if there had been time before the comic's due date he woud have re-drawn it.


So Hank never did strike Janet.
