Much in the tradition of many painted and masked wrestlers, Goldust has changed the look of his face paint over the years, and has also mimicked and quoted many characters, wrestlers, and famous actors over the years in his attempts to play "mind games" with his opponents.

The paint he wears does bear a strong resemblance to Darth Maul, and while I'm not certain, I'm quite sure it's intentional and he's not just a Star Wars fan. The current gimmick if you will has Star Wars written all over it.

After being retired from the active WWE roster for some time, Goldust returned to help his struggling younger brother Cody Rhodes, who was going through something of a bad streak of losses in the storyline. After a few months of teaming up with Goldust, Cody finally made a turn to the "dark" side if you will, becoming "Stardust" (possible Star Wars reference there with the use of the word "star") He changed his mannerisms and his look entirely to mimic that of his brother, complete with Darth Maul styled red and yellow contact lenses. While they were fan favorites for a while, they are currently regarded as heels, with Cody Rhodes acting more and more bizarre, and nothing like his former self.
