Let's be honest almost every horror franchise checked out early in the series. A Nightmare On Elm Street, Halloween, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and just about all the rest had very good original movies but every entry after feels like a pale imitation to recreate the feel of the original. Usually horror movies don't really do much for me but I admit The Conjuring spooked me out way more than I expected. Just watched Annabelle last night (spinoff of the Conjuring) and it was ok. I would not want one of those dolls in my collection.
