The following is an interview from Nintendo Nugget regarding a man who has spent $4k for Amiibos, and plans to spend $35k more just so people cant get their favorite characters

Recently the staff here at Nintendo Nuggets has been lucky enough to get some individuals in here willing to shed light on their activity surrounding the worlds current Amiibo craze and their motives behind it. We originally started these discussions to explore whether the people spending so much money on the platform have any ideas whether their accumulated products would be incorporated into Nintendos upcoming hardwares and technology regarding Quality of Life. Our first guest wished to remain anonymous because not everyone is appreciative of the mindset these particular people trading with the figurines bring to retail. Tonight, contrary to our previous guest, our subject was more than willing to let our audience know his reaction to these types of criticism this business has received and ofcourse we cant wait for you to meet him!




DD: Let me just start off by saying I was a huge Nintendo fan back in the NES-Wii era. I am no longer that big of a fan. I was a bigger fan of Mario when he was from Brooklyn than him just being a resident of the mushroom kingdom. I was a big fan of early Zelda until they decided to shove anime style in our faces I am not a big fan of this. Also, because of certain audiences and choices people made to change Nintendo.

Randy: Thank you for sitting down with us Daily Dose! If I may, I want to ask you the same line of questioning we have asked another, just for comparison purposes. Amiibo, How much have you spent so far?

DD: I collect vintage Mario merch as a hobby and Nintendo merch in general. I know all kinds of Nintendo Merchandise of who has a figure and who doesn’t which plays a big factor of who to buy in the amiibo craze. I have spent well over 4,000 dollars and will be happy to follow up with proof pictures of when I get my orders in.



Randy: How much do you plan to spend?

DD: I plan to spend as much as it takes I currently have $35,000 to play around with if you want a good estimate.

Randy: What do you base your purchases on?

DD: I base them simply on scarce merch, popularity, the hentai look, and obscure character to never have a figure.

Randy: Are there others like you out there?

DD: Pretty sure there are! I ran into a guy at best buy with 3 little macs in his hand and we talked a bit on how easy it was to make money off this.

Randy: The money you make, do you buy more Amiibo?

DD: Well I could sit here and lie and hide my true reasons behind this but I won’t do that I will give you the full truth…..

With the money I make I simply put it off as extra for any merch I collect myself to spend on or more amiibos. This isn’t the only reason though call this a vengeance against the people who ridiculed me, insulted me, and are fans of stuff I hate. I do not appreciate Rosalina appearing in almost every recent Mario game to date this is pissing me off. Lets see… Mk8, Mario golf on 3ds as Dlc, 3dworld as a secret character, Smash bros 4, and more recently Mario Party 10. The fact Nintendo promotes her so much and people praise her is just disgusting. I hate her fans too I know for a fact her amiibo will be among one of the most popular which is why I took the time to wait and preorder over 100 of her. I do not want her fans to be happy I hate Rosalina as a character and I will enjoy selling her for big bucks. I will also do the same for Lucina(loose in ya),Palutena(Pootytanga),Robin(Throbbin) and Zero suit samus(Zero suit Slunt) When they are announced. I really hate these characters and it just crushes me Nintendo from the good days went to this shit for character designs.



Randy: Will you do something similar when Amiibo take new forms?

DD: No, I only do this with figures. The Smash bros line will obviously be the most popular line unless Zelda gets a line of amiibos that is something to jump on.

Randy: When Amiibo become cards aswell do you think it will devalue your collection when the experience can be replicated? Or increase your benefits as they grow with rarity?

DD: This is the mistake most people make the more they procrastinate the more they’ll have to pay in the end. Even if Nintendo makes more of the holy trinity it will not devalue them for long. The smash line will be discontinued someday and that common smash Mario amiibo will prob be replaced with another Mario amiibo such as the one you see on the back of the packaging.




Randy: Trading with the Figurine Platform, how would you like to see Amiibo’s evolve moving forward?

DD: Maybe an amiibo like game that lets you play as these characters in the game.

Randy: How long have you been collecting?

DD: I have been collecting for all my life I am in my mid 20s and I own just about everything I know that exist that I have wanted so far. It is awesome to come across a discovery of an item you never thought exist and add it to your collection. For right now my collection is complete as of now until I come across other things.

Randy: Whats your favorite toy?

DD: The 1981/1982 Jumpman figure from Coleco from the Donkey Kong arcade series. It is the very first Mario figure ever made and I own about 4 of them with one mint on card.



Randy: There has been some supply issues with Amiibo, are you targeting these defective products aggressively?

DD: If I get the chance to get a defect I would buy them but using multiple family members and friends to help me order bulk amiibo is good enough. The companies send them to different addresses which they can’t find out if I am a reseller or not that’s the best part.

Randy: Outside of the collecting, how much value do you place in its software integration?

DD: I think amiibo is only popular because certain characters that hardly have any figures can be bought for low prices at retail.

Randy: Do you factor that in to your cost?

DD: No

Randy: Does Amiibo integrated software sales help or disrupt your trading?

DD: It doesn’t do anything for instance you got a figure of Marth which has a big fanbase from fire emblem. He doesn’t have a figure that represents him well this is the only one. This is another reason why Marth fetches high prices on ebay. It is all about the characters.

Randy: Iwata announcing QOL plan on January 28th next year in 2015, have you considered this and the next 6 months?

DD: No

Randy: How confident are you that your Amiibos will be integrated?

DD: Very confident!
