However, as it pertains to Cap, the secondary market isn't brutal for the this particular fig. Outside of "face-off Cap", versions of this fig. aren't outlandishly priced (at least as far as the "loose" market is concerned). A fact that is directly attributable to the ubiquitous nature of Cap's presence in the ML's series. If we were talking about Shield Agents/Hand Ninjas/Skrulls/Kree Soldiers (price-wise), I'd agree wholeheartedly.

With Cap specifically, it's hard for me to ignore the exploitative nature of the business strategy. All in on Cap (counting Bucky Cap and US agent; different characters, but still within the Cap vein), there have been 14 Caps...with more to come, as you mentioned. By any standards, that's a shitload of Caps and the shark has been jumped. I definitely feel where you are coming from, but I also don't think it's unreasonable to point out that there are other characters in need of service. Just so you know, I like Cap. He's not a simplistic representation of jingoistic pride, but rather what America has the potential to become...I know, pretty sappy lol. Not trying to be facetious here, just a bit tired of Cap figs and wanting more diversity in representation.
I'm not trying to advocate that we need more Captain Americas. Just that new comers have a luxury right now. I started collecting when Hasbro took over and BLAH! Legends were very different back then in terms of quality and character selection, I know, but I can't help but look at the new waves and think how I would have killed to have them when I started. There are certainly other characters that very much need an update from their old Toy Biz figures and others that need to get their very first figure.

Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, Wolverine, Hulk, Thor (to an extent), all these guys have a bunch of versions because they will hopefully help the wave sell. As collectors, we may not always see the value here. Parents who know nothing about the comics will buy the person they know because they've seen them in commercials for movies. I was in Toys R Us yesterday and a woman was asking me "which of these characters are famous?" There were a few left over Guardians, Cap and Spider-Man legends. I tried to recommend Star Lord and her answer was "Who?". I felt like it was pulled from the movie, haha.
I'm not saying the big names are in every wave, but Hasbro mostly throws them in, Toy Biz did the same. Would I love a wave with zero anchor figures? Sure! But I think it might be some time before we see that happen.
At least she asked. I've had older people come up to me while I was looking at figures and try to convince me that it was all crap and that the "kid" would just throw the toy away.

I'm hoping GOTG 2 will get they same treatment for Legends that Avengers is getting this year. I'm sure the movie characters will get new costumes and we'll get toys of them. But I'm hoping we'll get also be able to get more comic characters from the DnA run like Mantis or Cosmo. Hopefully the success of Guardians will help Captain Marvel to get her own wave.
