"At first Bob Benton was a normal pharmacist working on an experiment with his assistant, Tim Roland, to make a tonic that could, as Bob put it, help "run down people." While working on the experiment Tim accidentally adds formic acid. After getting mad at Tim for adding the wrong chemical, Bob inhaled some of the resulting "Formic Ethers" and gained super strength and invulnerability. Seeing the potential of his newly acquired powers, Bob decided to do something he'd always day-dreamed about
: use his strength to fight crime and evil. It is then that he became the nemesis of evil, The Black Terror."
Recipe:
Head: Marvel Universe Punisher
Body/Upper Arms/Upper Legs: Avengers Infinite Grim Reaper
Lower Arms/Lower Legs: Marvel Universe Captain America
Cape: Marvel Universe Doctor Doom
Belt: Marvel Universe Thor
Sword: GI Joe Iron Grenaider Destro
As soon as I saw the Grim Reaper figure I just knew I had to make this figure. It was wanting to make the Black Terror that got me interested in these public domain comic book characters and sparked my interest to make them. I was very fortunate in having everything I need already so I was able to get him assembled and painted quickly. The hardest part was sculpting the head. I wanted to go with the Alex Ross redesign from Project Super Powers. I dremeled the side of the head, only leaving the top of his hair and then proceeded to pain stakingly sculpt the mask/cowl combo. Considering how small the head is I am quite pleased with how it turned out.
