I commend you for aiming a little higher and not wanting to settle for the basic retail figures.
But still, like a lot of other guys pointed out, since you like Marvel, don't completely rule out Marvel Legends.

A HUGE benefit of sticking mostly to Hot Toys, Figuarts, etc... that no one has mentioned yet is that you will largely be able to avoid the time-consuming hassle of hunting store-to-store for figures.
Lol, just today, while hunting, I spent over $50 on gas and Red Bull. So, if you are budget-minded, your approach will save you tons of time and gas money, and the cash you save on gas will help offset the prices of the expensive figures you're into.

But anyways, enjoy your new hobby! We look forward to you showing off some of those Figuarts figures in the "Look What I Just Got" thread
