If there is a feeling of abandonment towards the prequels, it's more than likely not because Disney is trying to ignore it took place, but rather acknowledge that after the prequels and the Clone Wars series, there's not a whole lot more to tell about this time period. Ahsoka Tano making her grand appearance in Rebels in fact shows that Disney acknowledges and respects it.

Well I was basing it mostly on merchandise but also with media. Rebels could've had the V-Wing and rogue Jedi Starfighters but the vehicles and style hark back more to the original trilogy and Kenner line. Even with the new Marvel books it seems like OT is largely emphasized instead of PT.

Maybe it's subliminal messaging too, since Lucas was behind the prequels. So far it seems like Disney is largely moving away from his ideas. From what I read, they discarded his plot for EP VII and wrote one for themselves.

What I loved most about the prequels were the designs. So it's cool that Maul is going to be in the Figuarts line. ROTS Anakin would be cool and Jango is a given when Boba is announced.
