Not trying to hurt anyone's feelings or start a flame war, but the whole "Disney is the Devil/Illuminati/Hydra" thing and the notion that they would purposely self cannibalize their own products for the sake of hoping to ruin another company's box office draw is ridiculous, not to mention getting really old and stale.

Superhero movies now a days are essentially two hour commercials for comics and merchandise, and there's no quicker way to jump start a comic's dreary sales, than the appearance of a character in a movie or cartoon. What if the new FF movie is a hit...and in turns sparks new interest in Marvel's first family? Is Disney going to say..."Nope, Sorry...we got rid of the book because of Fox, so stop asking us to write more stories." I highly doubt it. I'd be almost willing to make a Vegas bet that FF's book would be revived in a heartbeat, and if the book was still on the shelves, I'm sure you would see an increase of sales for at least two or three months. The idea that they would cancel the comic simply because they are trying to take the steam out of Fox's sales is preposterous. Why shoot themselves in the foot like that if there is money to be made?

Comic books really don't play as big of a role in drawing people to the theaters to see a movie as people put emphasis on. I'm willing to bet, comic book or not, that 90% of the folks who will see FF at the theaters will have never even read a single issue of the comic, either golden age or current day (myself included,) and will be checking out the flick simply because it's yet another superhero flick, or they remember the FF from an episode of the Fox Spiderman cartoon as a kid.

And that's just the Fantastic Four, a team of heroes that in many ways has a niche' fanbase. There are far more mainstream characters out there that suffer the same fate. Hell...many people who love the Ninja Turtles never knew the comic was originally a super violent black and white graphic novel where the turtles routinely swore, smoked and consumed alcohol, and often eviscerated their foes savagely.

Let's stop blaming Disney for everything that's happening that we don't like. We're not sitting in on the board meetings, and until some of us get high ranking jobs within their infrastructure, or some sort of tell all press conference is held by Disney themselves, we really don't know why certain decisions are being made the way they are (even though we would like to pretend we do because we feel something we love is being slighted in some way.) At the end of the day, Disney is a corporation that sells and produces product (like most businesses,) and we can only speculate that it's a business decision due to poor sales or sagging interest, like any other business.

Anyways...that's my two cents. Sorry if I offended anyone...but I'm just tired of the "Disney is ruining Star Wars!" or "Disney is ruining Marvel!" because honestly, they are not. They own the properties, which are run by self governing parties (Lucasfilm/Marvel), and I highly doubt they have their fingers in everything as deeply the way we would like to believe.

As for the Black Cat figure, don't wait. She was easily one of the best figures that Hasbro put out last year.
You could very well be right. Honestly, my only investments in super-"anything" at moment are the figs and some TPB's. My opinion that the books suck has been the same for some 5-6yrs now. I don't even watch the super-flicks in the theaters; I view the phenomenon as the latest source of fad-entertainment, one that Hollywood will inevitably run dry. Nor do I really care about Marvel/Disney/DC/Time-Warner's collective fates as publishing companies.

For what it's worth, I'm sorry this stuff seems to vex you so and I'm glad you were able to get that off your chest. I find opining about these things entertaining and a distraction from life's stressors. I also find it more than "passing strange" (to borrow from Thor) that there have been no FF figs in quite some time...we haven't even seen many ancillary characters - what was the last Legend? Terrax?..Blastaar?..but more for his relation to Annihilation than FF. Forget the brouhaha regarding movie rights **which happens to be real and not just representative of fanboy conjecture, but written about by journalists -if you can consider bloggers to be such- and supported by comic-culture-media** , or even the ominous (to some) comic cancellations...that stuff aside, I think we can all agree that FF and its pantheon of characters constantly rank in polls of figs for which fans want service. Why not deliver? Why leave the cupboard bare when you know these figs would move and that you could make money?

There has to be some reason for what feels very much like a blackout regrading FF figs. I strongly doubt that it's simply because the books suck. Don't worry, this isn't a flame war. This is just a discussion. Where are the figs? It's not a matter of weak brand recognition (due to flagging FF sales)...we got Hellcat, Batroc, and Machine-Man recently. I'm not sure one can get any more obscure than those characters and FF figs could've/should've seen the light of day before them..even though I'm very happy with Aaron and Patsy!
