I wasn't blaming Disney. I actually liked Ultimate Spider-man's first season.

But yeah it was definitely a convoluted mess on the rights end. I don't know if I'd call it a goof on Sony's part either. As you explained, the ratings weren't there. Pretty sure though if Disney wanted to keep it on Disney XD for a next season, they would have found a way to work it out. So yeah, ratings do sound like the main reason it was cancelled all around. That falls more on the audience. You can't really expect any studio to continue making a show when it doesn't have decent ratings.
